MODUS RIO
Sara Taublib founded Basically Brazil with the intent of bringing the sense of style, creativity and craftsmanship of Brazil to the North American market. With designers in such locations as Rio and Sao Paulo, drawing inspiration from all over the globe, the line, Modus Rio, translates literally as “Fashion Rio”. This line is differentiated by the blending of international fashion trends with Brazilian design, philosophy and techniques.
The goal is to promote Brazilian style to pre-eminence in the fashion world, and, by doing so, creating more employment for Brazilians.
The Modus Rio woman appreciates and embraces the style and sensuality of Brazil.
ALMAS
The “Soul” of Almas
Vanesa Wittenberg
Born and raised among the natural and exquisite beauty of Argentina, Vanesa Wittenberg grew up surrounded with the country’s flair for fashion and creativity. When Vanesa relocated to Los Angeles and earned her MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, she recognized the potential of Argentine artisans and knew she had to use their expertise to bring luxurious leather handbags and accessories to the United States. Following in the footsteps of her entrepreneurial family, Vanesa launched Almas (Spanish for “soul”) in the fall of 2002. Since then she has experienced continuous growth and success – the line is currently carried in over 500 boutiques and specialty stores across the United States, Canada and Asia.
Vanesa returns to her native Argentina several times a year to personally work on each and every piece of the Almas collection together with her local artisans.

YES VIRGINIA
Virginia Lato is the designer of beautiful leather and fur coats, jackets and accessories.
Her story of success is based on embracing and celebrating the female shape with all of its curves, bumps and beautiful delights.
While on vacation in South America, Virginia, a former Investment Strategy teacher, noticed the unique and confident way the Argentine women dressed. She was impressed to see these women so pulled together, so fashionable, so alive and sexy without being trendy. They accepted their age with open arms, great wraps and fabulous shoes!
In the past, Virginia had always found it difficult to dress to celebrate her age and flatter her shape while complementing her vibrant personality. She felt fashion was stuck with either a matronly look or clothing based on her daughter’s shape. Neither worked!
Before Virginia even arrived back home in Toronto, an idea - or rather, an ideology - was born. Upon landing in Toronto Yes Virginia˚s design philosophy- to free women to express their energy, elegance and vitality while not trying to emulate the 20 something- was born, and the Toronto design industry was about to be turned on its ear!
At a time when accessories are as important as the main pieces, it is safe to say that beautiful bags are here to stay. Yes Virginia offers a stunning selection of bags. They range from the corporate classics, such as the extremely successful croc laptop bag and portfolio to vibrant totes and playful clutches.
Quality skins, supreme attention to detail and unique styling are Virginia's trademark thus creating a quiet but phenomenal success story with passionate followers for Yes Virginia.
